The undisputed star of aperitifs and cocktails since the turn of the last century, a high-quality Bitter “all’uso d’Hollanda”, as it was originally called, is a favourite behind the bar. Absinthe, gentian, rhubarb, sweet and bitter orange blossom and fruit are some of the ingredients that go into this exclusive recipe. This premium recipe is perfect for embellishing the finest Italian aperitif drinks.
Extraction method: | Infused and distilled spices |
Botanicals: | Absinthe, gentian, iris, cardamom |
Fruits: | Bitter orange |
Nose: Dominant notes of bitter orange and absinthe mingle with subtle hints of gentian and iris, creating an enticing herbal and citrusy aroma.
Taste: On the palate the warmth of cardamom complements the subtle bitterness of gentian and the citrusy sweetness of bitter orange. Its strong aromatic structure is also discernible when mixed in the classic bitter and soda and the well-known Americano and Negroni.
Finish: The bittery finish is lingering, leaving a satisfyingly complex aftertaste.
