Mint has always been very popular in Piedmont, perhaps because of its geographical and cultural proximity to France where it is also popular. Although the most widely grown variety was the local white mint, with the arrival of the peppermint variety from England, mint syrups and sweet liqueurs rapidly developed. Production is now concentrated around the town of Pancalieri, just outside Turin, which grows mint with very special flavour and aroma characteristics. Carefully crafted, completely natural, free of preservatives and colouring agents.
