MANHATTAN

The Manhattan is one of many cocktails named after the famous boroughs of New York (other examples being a Bronx or a Brooklyn), but its origins remain shrouded in mystery. Supposedly created at the Manhattan Club, for a stately banquet, the drink has been in cocktail books since the late 1800’s.
A mix of a spirit and a fortified wine, the variations on this style are endless.
