BATANGA

The Batanga was created in the 1960’s by Don Javier Corona as a Mexican cantina drink. A simple highball made with tequila, lime and coca-cola, served with a salt rim. The trick of the cocktail is using real Mexican coke, which has cane sugar instead of corn syrup or other sweeteners for a better flavour. The batanga is sometimes also referred to as a ‘Charro Negro’, meaning ‘Black Cowboy’.
