PISCO SOUR

The national drink of both Chilé and Peru and a drink that has many people searching for the one perfect recipe. Although both Chilé and Peru claim the drink as their own, just as they claim Pisco, the drink was created in Lima, Peru by an American bartender in the 1920’s. Victor Morris had opened his own bar, Morris’ Saloon, where he catered to those seeking cocktails. Cocktails being an American tradition and invention, he quickly started experimenting with the local spirit, being Pisco. Making a classic sour cocktail, but with Pisco, the Pisco sour was born! A traditional Chilean Pisco sour will use a Chilean Pisco and no egg white.
