LONG ISLAND ICED TEA

A true Prohibiton classic cocktail, made in the time when selling alcohol with the intent to drink it was illegal. So obviously people started drinking in secret and hiding their bars and alcohol. It is also considered the ‘Golden-Age’ of cocktails as bartenders had to be creative with the limited, and sometimes questionable in quality, amount of bottles they could get their hands on. One of these cocktails is the Long Island Iced Tea. A combination of whatever you can get, mixed with cola. Made correctly, the drink resembles the color of an iced tea so you could pretend to sip on a non-alcoholic drink if the cops came around to check.
