REMEMBER THE MAINE

“Remember the Maine, to hell with Spain!” was a slogan used to refer to the sinking of the Maine, which provoked the American-Spanish war in the 1898 and the American intervention during the Cuban independence war. However, this drink was created in Havana in 1933 during the first Cuban Revolution in reference to this historical event. A reference to the old battlecry and a strong riff on a manhattan.
